Pain and Acupuncture
摘要：
Pain treatment remains a major medical problem and pain research also faces translational challenges. In this talk, Dr. Ma will first summarize evidence suggesting an anatomical and functional subdivision of the nociceptive sensory systems and argue that the withdrawal behavioral responses to external threats, widely used as for pain measurement, may fail to evaluate the affective components of pain, thereby contributing to poor translational success. He will then discuss the modern scientific basis for electroacupuncture to modulate pain.
