梁德光实验室致力于解析细胞磷脂代谢途径(比如合成、重构、转运等过程)的分子调控机制,并揭示其在生理/病理条件下的功能意义。细胞磷脂构成决定了细胞膜和细胞器膜的理化性质,并因此直接或间接地调控各种细胞功能;另一方面,当磷脂的不饱和度高于一定阈值,细胞又倾向于发生铁死亡,一种铁依赖的磷脂过氧化驱动的新型细胞死亡形式。越来越多的证据表明,铁死亡在肿瘤、神经退行性疾病、缺血性器官损伤等多种疾病中发挥着重要作用。细胞磷脂代谢途径是否存在精细的反馈调节机制,从而动态调节细胞膜磷脂构成以取得细胞正常功能和细胞铁死亡之间的平衡,目前还不是很清楚。
